Laparoscopic removal of the ovary and fallopian tube is a gentle and effective surgical procedure used for diseases of the ovaries and fallopian tubes. At our gynecological clinic Chirkoz we perform this procedure with emphasis on safety, patient comfort and quick recovery.
When is it necessary to remove the ovary or fallopian tube?
The procedure is indicated in cases where there is:
- Cystic changes of the ovaries (fluid-filled formations)
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Inflammation of fallopian tubes and ovaries with purulent lesions
- Chronic pain or recurrent infections
- Unsuccessful conservative treatment
- More rarely: non-neoplastic diseases of uterine adnexa
Depending on the type of disease, only the fallopian tube, only the ovary, or both together are removed. If the other ovary is preserved, there is no disruption of hormonal balance or premature menopause
Course of the operation
- The operation is performed laparoscopically under general anesthesia
- Typical minimally invasive approach – only 3 small incisions up to 1 cm in the abdomen
- The procedure takes approximately 30–60 minutes depending on the extent and type of problem
Hospitalization lasts max. 24 hours, in most cases the patient goes home the same day
