Hysteroscopy is a modern, minimally invasive endoscopic method that allows direct visualization of the cervical canal and uterine cavity. It is used for the diagnosis and treatment of various gynecological problems that cannot be accurately identified by ultrasound or other non-invasive methods.
At Chirkoz Clinic, we offer both diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy under the guidance of experienced gynecologists in a safe and modern environment.
What is hysteroscopy used for?
Hysteroscopy is an examination that helps to detect or resolve:
- Infertility
- Endometrial polyps
- Fibroids protruding into the uterine cavity
- Uterine adhesions
- Uterine developmental anomalies
- Endometrial changes before planned IVF or other treatment
Types of hysteroscopy
- Diagnostic hysteroscopy – determines the cause of problems such as infertility, bleeding outside the cycle, suspected adhesions or tumors
- Operative hysteroscopy – allows immediate removal of polyps, fibroids or adhesions, which often improves the chances of pregnancy or removes unpleasant symptoms
Procedure course
- The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, in some cases (for diagnostic hysteroscopy) without it
- The patient arrives fasting, previously informed about the procedure
- After the procedure, she is monitored and in case of good condition, discharged home the same day
- Postoperative complications are rare – possible mild discomfort, bleeding, very rarely thrombosis or uterine wall perforation
