Dermatoscopy is a painless, non-invasive method of monitoring moles on the face and body. By dermatoscopic examination, we monitor the occurrence of malignant skin changes such as melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma. Their early detection and treatment are crucial for prognosis. Regular skin screening by dermatoscopic examination of all lesions on the face and body should therefore be part of regular prevention.
The most important is the regular preventive monitoring of melanin, pigmented lesions that occur immediately after birth or during life. Their color can range from pale brown, through brown, dark brown to black, dark blue, but also red. They can change during life and these changes can be benign - non-cancerous, or malignant - cancerous. We monitor their changes, the so-called ABCDE criteria (A- asymmetry, B - border, C - color, D - diameter, E - evolution).
Early diagnosis of skin tumors can save lives.
Basic information
- The examination is recommended to be performed once a year, at regular intervals, always before the period of intense sunbathing, in case of changes in moles immediately, or according to the recommendation of a dermatologist
